The works for building the pier at the old bridge of Buna River are going ahead at a fast pace. This investment is expected to have a significant impact not only on navigation in the Buna River and Lake Shkodra, but also on tourism. This investment, worth about 1.2 million Euros, is expected to influence the development of tourism in Shkodra.

Currently, the work is focused on building of the walls where there is planned the anchoring of the small boats, while the local citizens also positively assess such an investment.

Part of the pier project is also the reconstruction of the Zogaj aqueduct./p.s./

This is the third pier after the one in Zogaj and Shiroka.

Prime Minister Edi Rama wrote in the social media that the construction of this pier is part of the big project for the transformation of the entrance to Shkodra, which will turn this part of the city into one of the most beautiful urban areas in the country.

Earlier, PM Rama provided details on the construction of a multifunctional park on the edge of the Buna, one of the strategic projects for the transformation of Shkodra by the Albanian Development Fund, with 100% financing of the Albanian government.

PM Rama wrote that the project includes the creation of a multifunctional park on the edge of the Buna, over an area of 18 hectares.

Part of the project is the port near the Buna Bridge as a new tourist pole, as well as the establishment of a museum that will highlight for visitors and tourists the radiant history of Shkodra over the centuries.

The Head of the Executive emphasized that this project will have a high impact on facilitating movement of cars and reducing traffic in the city, as it foresees the widening of the road from Harku i Bërdica to Ura e Bahçallek, including the widening of the bridge to four lanes./p.s./

Some of the most important projects include construction of a multifunctional green park along Buna River bank, a harbour adjacent to Buna Bridge as a new tourist attraction, as well as construction of a museum showcasing shining history of Shkodra region over the centuries.

, Work is underway on construction of a new pier with a floating platform, suitable for mooring boats, near the old bridge crossing the Buna River, a project designed to further enrich the tourist offer of the north-western Albanian city.

The 60-meter wide and 20 meter long pier will include a 59-meter wide and 4 meter long dock suitable for mooring tourist boats.

Construction of three permanent docks on Lake Shkodra shoreline, the sailing connection between Albania and Montenegro, as well as construction of new roads along the lakeside villages will open up a completely different perspective of tourism development in this part in northwest Albania.

“In Zogaj, where one of the three piers in Lake Shkodra is being built, with all the parameters for navigation in the blessed nature of the lake area, which is also considered a new tourist perspective between Albania and Montenegro”, he wrote.

The government investments in the municipality of Shkodra include Shiroka-Zogaj-Pika border road with Montenegro, about 6 km long. The construction work is due to start very soon.

Likewise, there will be made investments in the Shengjin-Ulqin connection, the Shengjin bypass, the Buna Bridge and the Pulaj road.

In Shkodra, there will be made investments for Shiroka square, the Lake Museum and the panoramic spots, the Almoni piers, the entrance to Shkodra, the Navigation Museum and Rozafa Castle.

In the Alps area, the investments include the Qafë Thore-Theth road, the requalification of Theth, the Theth-Nderlysaj road, phase 1, as well as the Nderlysaj-Lotaj-Lekbibaj-Prekal axis or the inner ring of the Alps.

There is also foreseen an intervention in the road Mesi Bridge-Drishti Castle for the lighting of the road, as well as for the revitalization of the Castle of Drishti. /m.m/j.p/p.s./
