Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Frida Krifca, announced that, “Albanian exporters and the National Veterinary and Plant Protection Authority can now apply, issue and exchange documents quickly and efficiently online, fast-tracking and streamlining export procedures.

She emphasized that this project supports the exporting Economic Operators and fulfills the obligations to increase the standards of services for the business.

The minister informed that filling out the phytosanitary certificate by hand, as well as carrying out the monitoring, requires an average of 1-1.5 hours of work. While the online process for all Economic Operators that will carry out exports, does not take more than 10 minutes.

According to her, this process saves the time spent in manually completing the certificate and reduces the possibility of human errors, because companies and authorities are registered on the platform and in turn manual writing errors are eliminated.
Krifca also emphasized other benefits such as: traceability – monitoring of cargo movements; information exchange – enabling trading partners and authorities to easily share information on the movement of their shipments; risk management – rapid response to identified phytosanitary problems, tracking cargo movements and facilitating the process of rejected shipments as well as the integrated statistical toolbox that allows the extraction of valuable data regarding imports and exports from CEFTA countries and beyond.
