TIRANA, Oct 21 /ATA/ – By Maela Marini/ The increase in pensions is considered a duty, a challenge, and a common social front on the pathway toward Albania 2030.
This was stated today by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who, along with the Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation Blendi Gonxhja and the Minister of Finance Petrit Malaj, engaged in a discussion with retirees about the pension scheme.

Rama asserted his will to address this issue so that pensioners do not remain excluded from the expanded circle of opportunities created by the economy.

“Today we will open a debate, a public discussion with retirees regarding pensions, to address an obligation and, of course, a legitimate and constant demand that, at this stage when our economy has begun to take the shape of an inclusive economy, as a result of all the reforms and sustainable economic growth, pensioners should not remain excluded from this expanded circle of opportunities created by the economy, especially as others receive much higher salaries as compared to when we embarked on this effort,” said Rama.

The Prime Minister emphasized that this meeting aims to give a snapshot of the situation and to convey as much information as possible, with the help of the media in order to reach out to more pensioners.

“The point is to disseminate truthful information about what pension financing is and why pensions are the most challenging aspect, not just for the Albanian government and Albania, but for every government and every country.” /j.p/sm/
