In a post on social media Gonxhja writes that “MoECI and SII thank the Municipality of Tirana and Mayor Erion Veliaj for the excellent news of free public transport, from January 1, 2025, for all pensioners, when the overwhelming part of this group, towards which we have compensation and supportive obligations, lives here”.

“In the autumn we will also adopt the annual indexation of pensions, while we are working to bring, very soon, more good news for all pensioners,” gonxhja said.

Mayor Veliaj announced yesterday that from January 1st, 2025, all pensioners will have free bus pass in Tirana.
