Peleshi said that the excellent political and economic relations between Albania and Germany are anchored in intensive parliamentary cooperation between the Albanian Parliament and the Bundestag at all levels.

“The active participation and contribution of the German delegation to the Interparliamentary Conference on EU enlargement and Albania’s accession, held in Tirana yesterday, was another testament to this cooperation,” Peleshi added.

The Speaker of Parliament welcomed Germany’s support for Albania’s development, democratisation and merit-based European integration, describing it as an important source of encouragement for the country’s institutions as they work towards EU membership within this decade.

Peleshi also highlighted tourism as a sector with considerable potential to deepen cooperation between the two countries, while creating new opportunities in the economy, transport, infrastructure, environmental protection and stronger people-to-people ties.

“A relationship strengthened through parliamentary dialogue and concrete projects,” Peleshi said.
