Kurti’s office said in a press release that he and the British Envoy discussed regional cooperation, current issues and the situation in the four municipalities in the north of the country, stating that it is important to remain alert to the re-escalation that may follow the statements and actions of the Serbian state leaders.

Kurti is said to have informed Peach “about the progress of the implementation of the Bratislava agreement between Kosovo and the European Union regarding the complete de-escalation of the situation in the north of the country”.

According to the release, PM Kurti said that two months have passed since the last incident in the four municipalities, and no violent protests have taken place since then, whilst the number of workers in the municipal buildings has increased and the police presence in and around the municipal buildings has decreased proportionally.

“We have a de-escalated situation thanks to the cooperation of citizens from the Serbian community and the actions of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo. It is important now to be alert to the re-escalation that may come from the statements and actions of the Serbian state leaders,” Kurti said.

President said via the social media on Monday that she and the British envoy discussed issues of dialogue, Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic integration, and the need to further strengthen ties and cooperation with the United Kingdom.

“While on visit to London, I also met with the United Kingdom’s Special Envoy for WB Lord Peach.

We discussed recent developments including important steps in the dialogue, Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic integration, as well as the necessity to further strengthen our bond and cooperation with the UK,” President Osmani tweeted.
