Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation Blendi Gonxhja announced today that for the period January-July 2024, there were made 807 applications through the e-Albania portal, 50.28% compared to 2023.

“The number of patents registered in GDIP show a significant increase, where their total number for the January-July period is 410 registered patents, 57.1% compared to 2023”, he said.

Also, the minister said that there have been 334 requests, or 32.02% compared to the same period of 2023, for the extension of the validity of patents by the European Patent Office (EPO).

“As a member state of the European Patent Office since 2010, GDIP has significantly increased requests for extension and validity of European patents in our country. All applications related to International Patent objects are applied through the e-Albania platform, and the entire examination process is carried out and administered online through the SAPI system as of July 31, 2023,” Gonxhja emphasized. /m.m/p.s./
