“The state mourning will be observed on Wednesday, the day when the deceased Ismail Kadare is buried, meanwhile the State Protocol is charged to undertake all the necessary actions for the implementation of this decision”, the announcement reads.

President Osmani, in June of last year, presented the writer Ismail Kadare with the “Hasan Prishtina” Order, among the highest Orders bestowed by the Republic of Kosovo on the most outstanding personalities of the nation. Meanwhile, in August, the President announced the decree granting the citizenship of the Republic of Kosovo to the world-famous Albanian writer, Ismail Kadare.
