TIRANA, Aug 7 /ATA/ – Air transport in Albania continues to experience steady growth, both in the frequency of flights and the number of passengers, reflecting broader economic development and rising demand for international mobility.

Tirana International Airport (TIA) announced a historic milestone Thursday, reporting its busiest day on record: 298 flights and 50,892 passengers passed through its terminal in a single day.

This achievement marks a major success for the airport and underscores the growing capacity and efficiency of Albania’s aviation infrastructure.

“Our mission remains the same: connecting Albania to the world,” TIA said in an official statement, expressing gratitude to its professional team and the passengers who choose the airport daily as their point of departure or arrival.

The continued rise in air traffic is accompanied by expanded destinations, improved services, and ongoing infrastructure investments, solidifying TIA’s role as a critical regional hub.

With consistent growth in both flight operations and passenger numbers, Albania’s air sector is evolving into a vital pillar of the country’s connectivity and tourism strategy.
