According to Bardhi, the July 29 elections for the new the DP head have been cancelled, while the process of elections for the functions of DP leadership was frozen.

“The National Council noted that all the decisions and positions of the Party Presidency, starting from June 6, 2023, run counter to the statute, as they were taken without a quorum, and did not take into consideration the consequences such as further division and weakening of the party. The acts of the Party Presidency have gone as far as using, falsifying and producing the stamp of the Democratic Party in an unauthorized manner, through a null and anti-statutory decision. All these decisions have been reversed and the National Council has decided to suspend the statutory activity of the Presidency of the Democratic Party of Albania, until the statutory regularity of its composition is verified,” Bardhi said.

“The July 29 elections have been canceled and will be held at another time and through a comprehensive process,” Bardhi added.
