At the press conference for rolling out the achievements of the Ministry of Defense during 2022 and the objectives for 2023, Peleshi said that “the staff of this centre will be well trained thanks to the partnership with the USA, but also the full membership with the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defense Center of Excellence based in Estonia.”

In his remarks, Peleshi said that “we are making efforts to further develop the partnership with the USA through concrete projects, so 2022 was a record number of projects with the USA in the field of security and defense, both in terms of the projects and the shared budget, as many of the projects are co-financed. There is a contribution not only in expertise, but also in funding to our security and defense projects.”

“One of them is the military cyber defense, which has taken on increased importance in the wake of cyber attacks,” said Peleshi.

Minister Peleshi said that “we started the work before they happened, we preceded this situation. In 2023 the military cyber defense unit will build 100% its human capacities. We are in a recruitment process, we have changed the structure, we have tripled the number of capacities in the structure, we have increased salaries, we have made them flexible, since you know the state bureaucracy does not leave room for changes to certain salary categories, but the specialists in the field of IT and cyber defense will be subject of a special flexible and competitive regime,” underlined Peleshi.
According to him, IT specialists are the most sought-after and best-paid professions in the labor market.

“They can sell their work even across borders without having to move from Albania, as many services are offered online. We have decided that their salaries will be even higher than the private sector. We have significantly increased the number of jobs,” said Peleshi.
