TIRANA, Sept 10 /ATA/ The Democratic Party convened on Wednesday its leadership for the first time since the May 11 parliamentary election defeat, just two days ahead of the new legislative session for this term.

In his address, the Democratic Party chairman announced that the opposition plans to kick off the new parliamentary session by establishing an investigative commission focused on the elections.

“We will reopen parliament with an investigative commission on the elections—fundamental rights, freedom of speech, and free vote. Once again, through investigative commissions, we will reveal the electoral offenders to the public, just as we previously exposed the incinerator affair,” Berisha stated.

Berisha guaranteed citizens that the Democratic Party will remain resolute in protecting their interests within parliament.

“This is a complex, multifaceted battle. On the international stage, our allies—who have certainly supported us—continue to stand with us. Thus, effectively coordinating this fight requires the continued support of our friends, champions of democracy in Albania, and advocates of free elections throughout Europe, the world, and beyond,” Berisha stated.
