At the end of the debate and Q&A session, the parliament voted in favor of the resolution submitted to parliament, which condemns the September 24 attack in the north of Kosovo.

The Parliament of Albania on Thursday’s session deliberated on the draft resolution in support of Kosovo for 5 hours. 106 deputies were present in the Assembly, while the amendments proposed by the DP deputy, Kreshnik Çollaku, were not put to vote. Parliament also passed the draft laws on the agenda last week, which were not voted as the opposition blocked the pulpit.

The resolution passed Thursday by parliament united the opposition and the majority. It consists of three points.

“The resolution is in line with the Constitutional commitments of the Republic of Albania and the policy of safeguarding the shared strategic national interests of Albania and Kosovo. It supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Kosovo and its constitutional institutions, as well as the efforts to protect democratic values, security and peace in Kosovo and in the region; Deeply concerned about the situation in the Republic of Kosovo after the organized military and criminal attack by a Serbian terrorist unit in the north of the country, on September 24, 2023”, the resolution passed today by the Parliament of Albania reads.
