In a press statement after the meeting with the heads of parliamentary groups, the Socialist official said that the parliamentary majority had voiced readiness for the motion previously.

“The Conference of Chairmen approved the request to hold a motion for debate and it will definitely take place. All it remains is that we should how long this motion for debate will last,” Balla said.

The Socialist MP Balla said that the opposition’s request for an unlimited parliamentary debate was absurd, stating that the parliament’s rules of procedure have empowered the Conference of Chairmen to determine the time and the duration of the session.

“According to the rules of procedure,  the session will take place within 30 days. I proposed a 12-hour parliament session that would allow every MP to deliver a five-minute speech on the issue,” he said.

Balla said that “the Premier is ready to provide answers about an issue that has nothing to do with Albania.”

Asked about opposition’s request for a parliament’s investigative committee on the issue, Balla said that the request was not on the agenda of today’s meeting.
