The winning proposal was submitted by the internationally renowned Danish architecture firm Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), selected from a field of twelve global finalists.

The shortlist included firms from the United Kingdom, Portugal, Denmark, Germany, Spain, Mexico, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Italy. Five finalists advanced to the final round, with BIG ultimately awarded the commission by an international jury.

Sharing visuals of the winning design on social media, Rama said the project adds “another unique international architectural destination” to Albania. He described the selection process as “the most complex, emotional, and challenging” the country has undertaken to date.

The Prime Minister, who attended the award ceremony, praised all participants and expressed hope for developing similar public spaces in the future.

Conceived as a symbolic space dedicated to religious coexistence and cultural harmony, the Park of Faith aims to become an iconic landmark reflecting Albania’s deeply rooted tradition of interfaith tolerance.

The project was commended for its inclusive and innovative approach, integrating nature, human presence, and spirituality into a unified landscape.

Once completed, the park is expected to serve as a key site for promoting Albania’s values of religious harmony and diversity – an enduring hallmark of the country’s social fabric.
