Prime Minister Edi Rama said on Tuesday that the initiative is launched under the motto “10 parks in 10 days”, and aims to clean up national parks from August 22 to 31.

“I invite you to join the initiative “10 parks in 10 days” by the National Agency of Protected Areas, as a contribution of everyone to clean up areas protected as national or natural parks, and of course to further enjoy and promote our Albania from the Northern Alps down to Llogora” said Rama.

Albania has been protecting national natural parks since 1940. Protected areas occupy a total area of 109,050 hectares, accounting for 10.5% of the forest fund and 3.8% of the total land area.

Protected areas in our country date back to 1940 with the designation and creation of the first state hunting reserve (Kune-Vain-Tale) in Lezha and in the National Park of Mount Tomor in Berat.

Designating a national park is a way to preserve our natural and cultural heritage.
