Refusal of the so-called parallel structures to leave the building is seen as a cause to trigger fresh tensions in northern Kosovo.

Since the end of the war, the building is being used by illegal parallel structures, a network of Belgrade-run and funded institutions.

The building is a property owned by the Republic of Kosovo and the decision to be taken over by local institutions is backed by the government.

Srpska Lista said in a press statement two days ago that they do not intend to leave the building.
