The platform will provide details on eligibility criteria, required documents, and fiscal incentives, while also enabling citizens and businesses interested in investing in the region’s economic growth to submit their expressions of interest.
Attending the meeting convened by Prime Minister Edi Rama with municipal mayors to discuss local performance as part of the “Albania 2030” vision and the country’s steady progress toward EU membership, Mazniku stated, “The first step in rolling out the Mountain Package is for each municipality to form a five-member working group responsible for pinpointing priority development areas within their territory.”

Mazniku stated that after thorough analysis, development zones are officially designated by the Council of Ministers, marking the start of the Mountain Package’s implementation. He also announced new guidelines for identifying priority development areas within municipalities.
According to the minister, there is significant interest in implementing the Mountain Package, with some municipalities already beginning the process of identifying areas with development potential.
Mazniku stressed that prompt submission of proposals by municipalities will speed up approval and implementation, with the government expecting the Mountain Package to diversify tourism and support local economic growth through agro-tourism and related investments.

The Mountain Package aims to stimulate investments in rural mountain areas by providing support through two instruments: legal and financial, targeting all those who meet the necessary conditions.
