Speaking to the media, Balluku highlighted that the rise in energy demand is attributed not only to high temperatures but also to the growing tourism activity.

“During the first week of July 2024, the average daily demand was around 18.6 million kilowatt-hours, while in the corresponding period this year, we have reached 22.4 million kilowatt-hours. This is a clear indicator of increased consumption,” she said.

The Minister emphasized that despite the significant surge in electricity demand, OSHEE teams have efficiently managed grid operations on the ground, ensuring minimal power outages.

“OSHEE crews have responded rapidly to address all issues arising from the increased load, promptly restoring any faults,” Balluku stated.

She assured citizens that over 1,600 employees of the OSHEE Group are on the ground and fully committed to ensuring uninterrupted and high-quality service throughout the entire summer season.
