They also talked on the strengthening of inter-judicial relations and the importance of co-operation in fighting transnational crime.

Likewise, Gjonaj asked her Spanish counterpart to follow with priority the execution of the Albanian request for legal aid sent by the Ministry of Justice on February 9, 2021 in connection with the criminal proceedings initiated by the Prosecutor’s Office in Tirana for the criminal offense of “Illegal trade of organs ”. This is in the framework of the investigations regarding citizen Saimir Sula, who passed away in the Hospital del Mar of Barcelona in Spain and the verifications that are being carried out regarding the results of the autopsy.

Minister Moreno assured of his support in regard to this matter which he appreciated an event of great human and public sensitivity.

He also assured on the support that Spain is ready to give to concretize and coordinate cooperation according to areas of common interest./p.s./
