The German Embassy in Tirana announced that the meeting revolved around internal political developments, the continuation of Albania’s reform course on the road to the EU and bilateral relations between Germany and Albania.
Ambassador Bergner emphasized the great importance of a democratic opposition for the development of the country.

“For this purpose, peaceful and constructive participation in parliamentary processes is as important as respecting the rights of minorities and the separation of powers by all parties,” he said.
Also, Ambassador Bergner emphasized that further strengthening of the rule of law and the fight against corruption, especially through the SPAK are essential not only for EU membership, but also for a better future for Albanian youth.
