Held under the slogan “Culture Connects Us All”, the German Culture Week will feature Oktoberfest celebrations, electronic music, exhibitions, contemporary art, gastronomy and urban culture.

The programme opens on October 2 with DIHA-Oktoberfest, offering Bavarian food, German beer, live music and dancing in a festive setting inspired by Munich’s traditional Wiesn.

On October 3, a Street Festival at the New Bazaar Recreational Square will showcase German organisations, study and scholarship opportunities in Germany and German-Albanian cooperation. Food, fresh bread, local beer and live music by Munich-based Gaudiblosn will also feature.

Later that day, Europa Park will host “Berlin Meets Tirana”, combining electronic music inspired by Berlin’s club scene with German aesthetics and Albanian hospitality.

The programme concludes on October 6 with the opening of the multimedia exhibition “Beyond Destruction” at Vila 31 x Art Eplora.

Created by documentary photographer Ilir Tsouko and writer Anja Troelenberg, the exhibition explores the climate crisis through personal stories of communities affected by environmental disasters. Adapted to the Albanian context, it aims to encourage discussion on climate change, resilience and sustainable development.

The first week of October has been dedicated to German culture since the International Cultural Weeks were launched, coinciding with Germany’s Unity Day on October 3.
