Çuçi: OFL, historical moment of police fight against crime

TIRANA, June 16 /ATA/ Minister of Interior Bledi Çuçi stated today that Operation “Force of the Law” –(OFL) remains a historical moment of the intelligent fight of the State Police against the force of crime.

During interpellation in the Assembly requested by the Democratic Party MP Ervin Salianji about the law of “Force of Law” Operation and for the vetting in the State Police, Çuçi said that, “The law of OFL or the law of vetting in the State Police are two unique initiatives.”

“OFL remains a historical moment in the intelligent fight of the State Police against the force of crime, as a quick, efficient and simple instrument to track the assets of persons convicted or under investigation for organized crime, terrorism and the commission of serious crimes “, said Çuçi.

Regarding Salianji’s findings that this operation was used for electoral purposes, Çuçi said that, “This is outside the legal logic. The law was prepared in 2019, i.e. 2 years before the next general elections. And it was adopted in 2020. So, you cannot think that this was an instrument to be used for electoral purposes.”/a.a/p.s./

TIRANA, April 8 /ATA/- As part of the fight against organized crime, Operation Force of Law (OFL) has made possible the seizure of hundreds of properties and assets obtained directly or indirectly from a criminal offense or criminal offenses, removing millions of euros from the hands of crime.

Çuçi: OFL significant effect on reduction of crime and corruption curve

TIRANA, Jan.28 /ATA/- OFL had a great effect on reduction of both crime and corruption curve in the country. The results achieved in this extensive operation will remain in the history of this country as a culmination of the strike force against the criminal world, the Albania’s Minister of Interior, Bledi Çuçi said at the today’s plenary session.

At the today’s plenary session on the Normative Act MPs discussed the opportunity to postpone the effects of OFL, so that the Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) can review the hundreds of pending cases.

“In the 11-month period since the operation started officially on the last day of 2020, 243 files have been submitted to SPAK for 1877 assets of dubious origin, they include the names of 255 persons as subjects to this law. With regard to these referrals, the Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organised Crime has issued only 105 decisions for 641 properties until December 31, 2020, among which 314 are real estate, 224 are movable property, 98 commercial activities and 5 bank accounts,: Minister Çuçi said.

In his remarks Minister Çuçi stated that, “the reason we requested the approval of this act is that the Special Court Against Organized Crime and Corruption of the SPAK closes all criminal proceedings in view of the implementation of the law on OFL and make a decision on 1877 assets of dubious origin”. //a.i/
