In her remarks at the event, the Interior Minister highlighted more than 25 years of collaboration with the United States through ICITAP, which she said has been crucial in improving professionalism, integrity, and transparency in Albanian law enforcement.

Over 380 officers and agents have been trained under the program, strengthening institutional capacity.

She stressed that advanced investigative methods, a coordinated fight against organized crime, and high personal and professional integrity among officers are essential for the rule of law. While progress is evident and recognized internationally, Koçiu said there is still room to improve transparency and accountability.

The new agreement aims to create a coordinated framework where prevention, training, and oversight operate as a single system.

Koçiu congratulated the officers, urging them to apply their training to daily responsibilities and effective law enforcement. She also thanked U.S. officials for ongoing support, calling it a key guarantee for successful reforms and stronger institutions in Albania.
