At a media briefing, Gacek said that the mission’s highlight is not only the election day but the electoral process as a whole.

“The mission is dedicated to smooth conduct of election campaign. I have been in Albania since March 17. The attention is focused on election day, but for us as a mission election day is only a part of the mission. Our stay here since March 17 is dedicated to the monitoring of election campaign as a whole, the irregularities during it, the conduct of the candidates. I myself will observe a small number of polling stations, while other members are deployed in 12 regions of Albania, ” Gacek said.
