The international ensemble will perform in the Albanian capital on Sunday evening, with the Albanian renowned singer Elhaida Dani playing Esmeralda on stage in the Notre Dame de Paris musical.

At a press conference, singer Elhaida Dani invited everyone to watch the show, promising “an unforgettable night of music.”

Elhaida said that playing Esmeralda artistically and wining the audition to play her has been a tremendous accomplishment for her as an artist.

“I felt like Esmeralda when I migrated to Italy when I was just 19. I struggled to integrate and feel like everyone else in a foreign country. Although I felt like Emeralda, I seek to create my own identity anytime I try to bring this role alive on the stage,” she said.

Composer Riccardo Cocciante said that Albania is a country that deserves a lot more after having been through a very tough past and hardship, including the Italian occupation, as well as the dictatorship.

Created in 1998 by Riccardo Cocciante and the lyrics are by Luc Plamondon, the Notre Dame de Paris musical revives Victor Hugo’s classic love story about the hunchbacked cathedral bell-ringer Quasimodo and his unwavering devotion to the beautiful gypsy Esmeralda.

An extraordinary Gothic historical novel, set in medieval Paris at the twin towers of its largest structure and supreme symbol, Notre-Dame Cathedral, is the shocking drama of Quasimodo, a man with the ability to limited, as he struggles to oppose the guardian Claude Frollo, who also wants to commit genocide against the Roma population of Paris.
