NFA inspection bodies perform 152 monitoring activities nationwide

TIRANA, July 19/ATA/ Inspection bodies of the National Food Authority (NFA) carried out on Monday 152 inspections and monitoring activities across the country to ensure the implementation of the food safety law.

According to NFA, during the inspections, 34 warning measures have been issued to food businesses for lack of renewal of the personnel health booklet, the bacteriological water analysis, exceeding the deadline of the 3D plan.

Also, based on the Sampling Plan, 9 samples were taken to monitor the quality and safety of food products.

While, at the request of an entity, 7.02 tons of food products have been destroyed, NFA reports. //a.i/

TIRANA, July 14/ATA/ Inspection bodies of the National Food Authority (NFA) carried out on Monday 171 inspections and monitoring activities across the country to ensure the implementation of the food safety law.

According to NFA, during the inspections, 33 warning measures have been issued to food businesses for lack of staff health booklet, renewal of bacteriological analysis of water, exceeding the deadline of the 3D plan.

Also, based on the Sampling Plan, 30 samples were taken to monitor the quality and safety of food products. //a.i/

Inspection bodies carry out 167 monitoring activities nationwide

TIRANA, JULY 7/ATA/ Inspection bodies of the National Food Authority (NFA) carried out on Monday 167 inspections and monitoring activities across the country to ensure the implementation of the food safety law.

According to NFA, during the inspections, 46 warning measures have been issued to food businesses for lack of staff health booklet, exceeding the deadline of the 3D plan, non-compliance with the legal and regulatory framework of food safety.

Also, based on the Sampling Plan, 11 samples were taken to monitor the quality and safety of food products. //a.i/

NFA Director announces additional measures, intense inspections to ensure food safety during tourist season

TIRANA, June 17 /ATA/ – The General Director of the National Food Authority (NFA), Bledar Skënderi, in an interview for ATSH, voiced total commitment of the institution he heads to ensuring food safety for consumers, especially amid the increasing influx of visitors during the summer tourist season.

Skënderi said that an action- plan and additional measures adopted by Food Authority to ensure food safety during the tourist season, in compliance with the Prime Minister’s executive order, include more intense inspection actions in food markets, restaurants and fast-food shops.

“The inspection actions will focus on general and specific hygienic conditions at the production, processing and retailing businesses, technical-technological conditions, production standards, raw materials, additives, packaging, as well as the accompanying documentation,” Skënderi said.

Skënderi underlined that restaurants and fast-food shops should specify the oil type they use for frying: sunflower vegetable oil, palm, corn or a mixture of vegetable oils.

He said that during this period, the Food Authority teams have been conducting inspection activities in business operators to check implementation of the safety guidelines and other measures aimed at containing the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Food Safety / NFA, 198 inspections throughout country

TIRANA, May 10 /ATA/ –By I. Vata/ -Inspection teams of the National Food Authority on Monday continued their inspection actions across the country in order to ensure food safety and stem the spread of the Covid-19 infection.

NFA teams carried out some 198 inspection activities in business operators to check implementation of food safety standards and guidelines as part of the monthly inspection plan based on reports and tips by citizens.

The National Food Authority said that its teams have collected a total of 33 samples of food products, which will be tested in its labs, and inspectors also advised 599 citizens to abide by the masks use rule to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

National Food Authority is consistently monitoring the enforcement of safety guidelines in in the service units of bars and restaurants, indoor and outdoor premises.
