TIRANA, October 31 /ATSH/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama unveiled new features in version 4.0 of the e-Albania application, introducing “Diella”—an AI-powered assistant that enables direct interaction with citizens and simplifies access to public services through voice commands and natural language conversation.

During a demonstration of these new capabilities, Rama showed that citizens can interact with Diella to obtain information and complete various procedures, bypassing the multi-step processes previously required on the platform.

“A new application for e-Albania, where citizens communicate directly with Diella—just as if they were speaking to another person,” said Rama.

The demonstration showcased how users can ask the assistant questions regarding various services, such as checking driver’s license penalty points or generating a pension certificate.

In the case of a pension certificate, Diella guides the citizen through a few questions—such as whether the document is intended for use domestically or abroad—before proceeding to generate it. As demonstrated, communication can also take place via a chat option, allowing users to request services using natural language—without the need for technical terminology.

Another innovation in version 4.0 focuses on making services more accessible for pensioners.

According to the presentation, 19 different services can be initiated through voice commands, following a simple interaction with the virtual assistant.

The demonstration also showcased the Face ID authentication feature, which is automatically activated during the user registration process.

Rama noted that these are not the only new features, with further developments expected in the coming months.

He encouraged the citizens to download the e-Albania app and utilize the new capabilities of “Diella,” which aims to simplify access to public services.

“Download the e-Albania app and have Diella entirely at your service—not just through the steps you’ve followed until now, but also via a simple command: ‘Diella, perform this service for me,'” the prime minister stated. According to the presentation, users can ask Diella to perform tasks even while continuing their daily activities—such as listening to music or conversing with people around them. /gj.m/j.p/p.s./

TIRANA, August 27 /ATA/ Starting today, mechanical thrombectomy is available at Mother Teresa University Hospital Center (QSUNT). Funded by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, this milestone expands and modernizes Albania’s interventional neuroradiology services.

With a new biplanar angiograph and dedicated interventional radiology suite, doctors can now diagnose and treat acute ischemic stroke, aneurysms, and other cerebrovascular conditions using advanced endovascular procedures like digital subtraction angiography (DSA).

During an inspection of the new medical unit, Health Minister Evis Sala highlighted the 24-hour service now available at the QSUNT.

“Starting today, citizens have access to a new mechanical thrombectomy program for ischemic strokes. This integrated neuroradiology service combines modern diagnostic equipment with interventional treatment”, she said.

Minister Sala noted that the facility also treats other vascular conditions, such as aneurysms, which were previously untreatable at the hospital. She emphasized that the upgrade includes advanced technology alongside a fully trained team of specialists, nurses and technicians to ensure high-quality care.

QSUNT is expanding its specialized care with major medical upgrades in 2026. These new tools bring faster, safer and more advanced treatments to Albania.

TIRANA, March 21/ATA/ Tirana Mosaic is a new curated exhibition space, a contemporary venue showcasing premier mosaic art. Now, it is becoming more and more an important cultural destination for Tirana.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared today in the social media a view of the Tirana Mosaic, where valuable mosaics and artifacts from antiquity are being conserved for public viewing, serving as a vital link to our heritage.

Tirana Mosaic dates back to the 3rd century and was discovered in the 1970s during the construction of a block of buildings.

By combining pristine conservation with youth-focused education, this space opens a new window into interpreting our shared heritage.

Beyond its own history, this building acts as a visual showcase for the extensive mosaics buried in Albania’s archaeological underground.

ArchDaily has recently nominated the Tirana Mosaic for ‘Building of the Year 2026,’ highlighting the city’s successful fusion of historic preservation and modern architecture on the international stage. /m.m/ /a.g/p.s./

TIRANA, February 14 /ATA/ – The Bank of Albania is in the final stages of drafting the new banking law, in step to fully align with European Union standards and guidelines, strengthen financial stability and improve consumer protection.

Director of Communications at the central Bank Erinda Çaushi said to ATA that the new law is considered necessary within the framework of the European integration process and the developments that the banking sector has experienced in recent years. She emphasized that the current legal framework dates back to 2006 and, although it has been updated over the years, now requires full harmonization with the latest EU regulations, including CRD VI and CRR 3.

According to her, the draft law brings innovations in the structuring of bank governance requirements, strengthening the role and responsibilities of management bodies, improving the framework for risk management and internal control, as well as expanding the supervisory instruments of the Bank of Albania.

The new law also addresses developments in banking digitalization, including digital banks and fintech institutions, with specific requirements for operational and cyber risk management. The draft is currently in the technical discussion phase, while the goal is to have the law ratified by 2027. /e.xh/j.p/r.e/p.s./
