The resident director of the Institute for Albania, Ana Kovacevic Kadovic, was also present at the meeting.

Deputy Parliament Speaker Felaj appreciated the cooperation and contribution of the National Democratic Institute to the modernization of parliamentary services in Albania and the promotion of cooperation with the parliaments of other countries, such as the meeting organized in the last few days in the German Bundestag.

Felaj also appreciated the Institute’s contribution to the drafting of legislation, supporting the consensus between parliamentary parties, such as the case of legislation for parliamentary investigative commissions.
The consolidation of the Parliamentary Institute, with the support of NDI and funding from the Swiss government, is having a very positive impact on the modernization of parliamentary services, the drafting of legislation based on research and analysis, as well as the civic and democratic education of youth.

The significant progress of the activity of the Assembly of Albania during the last years is also attributed to the contribution of NDI, Felaj said.

She underlined the need for expanding the cooperation of the Parliamentary Institute with the parliamentary groups and all the MPs, for increasing the contribution to the development of the institutional capacities of the parliamentary services, as well as the monitoring by the Assembly of the drafting and implementation of the strategic documents of the Government.
Benjamin in his speech emphasized that NDI will continue to support the Parliament of Albania, so that legislation and parliamentary activities take into account the great social changes that are taking place, the rapid technological progress and the pace of Albania’s Euro-Atlantic integration and Albanian citizens.
