PM Rama announces next NATO summit in Tirana, says Albania delivers on its promises

TIRANA, July 8 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama announced on Wednesday at the close of the NATO summit in Ankara that the alliance’s next summit will be hosted in Tirana.

“Who said the summit would not be held in Albania? The days when others could decide Albania’s fate are over. Albania now delivers on what it promises and stands by what it does. The next summit will be held in Tirana,” Rama said.

Prime Minister Edi Rama is in Ankara, where he took part in the NATO summit, which brought together the heads of state and government of the alliance’s member countries to discuss current security challenges and strategic priorities.

The Ankara summit brought together the leaders of NATO’s 32 member states, along with key alliance partners, to discuss strengthening defence capabilities, increasing defence investment, military modernisation, and coordinating security policies.

The discussions also focused on Europe’s defence capabilities, NATO member states’ defence spending targets, and continued support for Ukraine.

Prime Minister Edi Rama‘s participation in the summit reaffirmed Albania’s commitment, as a NATO member, to contributing to collective security and addressing the alliance’s shared challenges.
