Xhaçka underlined that the meeting focused on the increase of the allied countries’ support for Ukraine.
In a posting on Twitter, Xhaçka said that, “at the extraordinary meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers, on behalf of Albania, I called on NATO to do more. We discussed further increase of allied countries’ support for Ukraine and how NATO can further strengthen its defense of allied territory.”

The MEFA announced that Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, on the margins of extraordinary meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers, met with the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg and the Commander of the Supreme Allied Command Europe, General Todd Walters.

In attendance of the meeting chaired by NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg were also Finland and Sweden, NATO’s operational partner countries, and the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell.

The foreign ministers of the allied countries discussed the repercussions of Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine, confirming that NATO countries continue to respond fully united and in unison to the biggest security crisis in Europe for decades.
