During the meeting mayor Veliaj and the EU Ambassador Soreca, called on young people to be active in this important event that lasts 365 days and expected to turn the Albanian metropolis into the epicenter of Europe’s youth.

In his remarks, mayor Veliaj also appealed to turn this year into a beautiful postcard for Albania and Albanian tourism.

“This is a fantastic opportunity and a postcard for Albania. Albania today is one of the safest, most open-minded countries, one of the countries that has gone through 30 difficult years of transition, but has taken a galloping leap,” Veliaj said.

“Next year the city will be the centre of gravity for young Europeans, and EU in Albania will support the municipality and youth Civil Society Organisations- CSO’s for a successful year. Essential to increase youth’s involvement in public life and to make their voice heard,” the EU Ambassador to Albania Soreca said. //a.i/
