The Minister of Culture Elva Margariti said Saturday that the wonderful clothing of Mirdita woman has been declared a National Value of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Culture Minister took to the social media to post pictures of the traditional item, saying: “Filled with mythical and cultic symbols, this is the wonderful clothing of the Mirdita woman.”

Margariti said that “at the proposal of the Mirdita Union Center, the National Council of Intangible Cultural Heritage, after reviewing the file, decided that this clothing that has accompanied the women in Mirdita region over the centuries should be declared a national asset.”

This fact –the Minister went on saying – makes us more aware of its preservation and heritage.
