TIRANA, May 7 /ATA/ – The Spanish language edition of National Geographic magazine has posted an article about Albania’s tourism most recently, describing the country a festival of nature landscapes and pristine beaches.

Prime Minister Edi Rama took to the social media to share the story recently posted on “National Geographic”.

“Albania on the latest National Geographic article is explored through extraordinary rafting experiences in the blue heart of Europe – Vjosa River – to move on to Berat, UNESCO world heritage site and to the magnificent canyons of Osum thanks to the fantastic work of the ‘Albanian Rafting Group’, on a journey with the taste of wines from Albania’s autochthonous varieties and the food enjoyed together with the shepherds in the pristine bucolic landscapes,” PM Rama said.

“A new generation of passionate locals is putting the bucolic southern regions of Albania on the map, offering opportunities to dine with shepherds, dip into hot springs and raft in Europe’s first wild river national park,” Amelia Duggan writes for the “National Geographic”.

TIRANA, June 7 /ATA/ – National Geographic reveals Albanian Riviera to the Spanish public through a feature story that is an incontestable invitation to spend several days in “the unknown paradise of the Mediterranean,” Prime Minister Edi Rama said as he shared the latest article by the leading international media giant.

“National Geographic discloses Albanian to the Spanish public, saying that the Albanian Riviera stretches out drawing a prodigious coastline, archaeological ruins, an exciting history, cultural peculiarities and rich gastronomy appear, which can be found on the best beaches in Albania,” PM Rama said, quoting the feature story by the National Geographic as “an irrefutable invitation to spend several days in this unknown paradise of the Mediterranean.”

The government head said that more than 45,000 Spanish tourists visited Albania last year, adding that “Spanish visitors are the surprise of the new tourist markets that are exploring our country.”

“The number of Spanish visitors to Albania rose 92% year-on-year during the period between January and April 2023,” he added.

“The Balkan country dazzles with a treasure of beaches that appear among archaeological remains. Little by little, this beautiful Balkan country is establishing itself as the unknown paradise of the Mediterranean. Albania has everything to become the most coveted destination with spectacular sandy beaches unknown to many travellers. The Albanian Riviera stretches out drawing a prodigious coastline, archaeological remains, an exciting history, cultural peculiarities and rich gastronomy appear, which can be found on the best beaches in Albania,” the National Geographic wrote.
