Speaker Gashi praised the cooperation so far between the two countries and expressed his readiness to promote this cooperation further, especially in security and defense matters, which are the main topic of current politics in every country in the world.

On his part, Chairperson of the Committee Nasip Naço highlighted the significance of bilateral meetings to exchange ideas and experiences that are necessary for the Parliamentary activity of both countries, and moreover at the regional level with the defense and security committees of the parliaments of the Western Balkans.

During the discussions, both parties appreciated the continuous support that the OSCE provides in these processes for the most effective implementation of Parliamentary control over state security and intelligence agencies.

Also, the two sides focused on the current law on the intelligence service, the necessary changes that need to be made by finding a common language and understanding between the opposition and the ruling majority, as well as the establishment of subcommittees for the oversight of intelligence agencies, an added value in the Parliament of North Macedonia where there are 3 Parliamentary committees with content directly focused on these issues, which can be taken as experience.

At the end of the meetings, Naço expressed his maximum commitment to intensifying these meetings, which are in the common interest of both countries. /r.e/a.f/p.s./

The meeting focused on continued cooperation and the OSCE Presence support for Albanian Parliament and the National Security Committee.

OSCE provides support for the legislative process, as well as the parliamentary oversight, the security situation and the measures in place as part of the increasing number of tourists visiting our country, and the political developments in the country.

During the meeting, Gassilloud expressed his satisfaction with the presence of the Balkan counterparts at the meeting.

Chairman of the Committee for National Security Nasip Naço said that Albania is engaged in fulfilling the duties arising as a result of our presence in the NATO, while he emphasized the investments that have been made in recent years in direction of modernization of the Albanian army, the police or other law enforcement bodies.

He underlined the excellent Parliamentary cooperation that exists between France and Albania, especially mentioning the exchange of visits of the respective Friendship Groups and in this regard invited Gassilloud to visit Tirana at a convenient time for him./p.s./
