Addressing a Socialist Party’s expanded Assembly meeting in the north-eastern region of Peshkopi, the government head note that powerful people and high government and state officials are facing justice for the first time in the country.

“For the first time in the history of the Albanian state, government and state officials who used to be untouchable by the hand of justice, individuals who made Albania look like a country where impunity was a myth are now facing justice,” Socialist leader said.

“Everyone is now touchable and the myth of impunity has been dispelled,” he stated.

The government head that there are no longer no individuals who go unpunished in Albania.

Speaking at the Extended Assembly of the Socialist Party in Pogradec, Rama said that, “Justice has been our highest ambition and we have tried to reform the Justice system since we were in the opposition. Then, we proposed to the government of that time to make a national pact for justice and we proposed to make a justice reform”.

Rama said that there were discussions when were making the SP program about the justice reform, “And here we are today, it is in everyone’s eyes that justice system is taking a different shape.”

“There are things that are wrong with the prosecutors’ offices and district courts, but something is happening, something that has not happened since the establishment of the Albanian state, since 1912,” said Rama.

“It is no accident that in Albania there is a judiciary that does not ask who you are, what party do you support, how high you are but, asks you to appear” , Rama emphasized.

“Some say that we control the justice system. They say it because no one here is used, especially those who had the power, that justice would function like this, that’s why they say it. It functioned in that way when they were in power; then justice was a farce, completely remote-controlled. Today, it is not”.

Rama said that, in Albania, the myth of the immune person is finally dispelled.

“Of course there are many things we can discuss. But, this is a fact. In Albania, the myth of the immune person is finally dispelled. There is no longer any immune person. And how did this happen? Not from heaven, not from America. This has been brought about only by the Socialist Party”, emphasized Rama.

The SP has been the only political force that, since its birth, has tended to think more about the state than the other political forces./p.s./
