The event is considered the country’s biggest and most long-running song contest and it is usually used to select Albania’s entry for Eurovision.

The biggest music contest in Albania, the “Festivali i Këngës” has been running almost every year since 1962, when it started off with radio-only performances and progressed to live television over the decades, bringing together Albanian music lovers wherever they are.

In addition to special guests and internationally acclaimed artists, the Festival’s first night features some 15 young singers, who will perform live alongside the Symphonic Orchestra of the Radio and Television.

Some 30 leading artists and young singers will perform in this edition of the Festival, which is also a showcase of Albanian talent but it determines the representative of the Eurovision Song Contest.

Third night of the event, named “The Night of Nostalgia,” will feature old songs over the years.
