TIRANA, Aug 28 /ATA/ The stories of Albanians who saved Jews in the dark years of the Holocaust will have a dedicated place of memory, namely the Albanian Jewish Museum, which is supported by the Albanian-American Development Foundation with the aim of building a contemporary institution that will showcase a unique history of coexistence, trust and hope between Albanians and Jews, especially during the second world war .

The Albanian American Development Foundation (AADF) announced that it has opened bidding procedures and invites qualified companies to apply for the construction of the Albanian Jewish Museum in Vlora.

According to AADF, this is a contemporary project that will be in harmony with the city’s historic center.

The Jewish Museum in Vlora will tell a unique story dedicated to the coexistence of Jews and Albanians over time, which is intended to become a cultural magnet for the historical area in Vlora.

Once the construction of this museum is completed, a new standard will be set for museums in Albania, supporting the creation of a contemporary museum, the only one of its kind in Albania and the region, in terms of mission, concept, architecture, management, governance, model of exhibition and story telling, partnerships and community engagement.

The construction value of this project amounts to USD 3,000,000.
