The process follows professional standards and contemporary methodologies, ensuring the preservation of the murals’ authenticity as well as their artistic and historical value for future generations.

The St. Todri Church, a designated Cultural Monument, dates to the first half of the 19th century and is attributed to painter Joan Çetiri.

The church has also undergone structural consolidation, drainage improvements and restoration of architectural elements.

Work began last year under the supervision of heritage specialists, with the aim not only of protecting the site’s historical and spiritual significance but also of restoring it as a living part of the community’s cultural identity.

Restoration of the mural paintings is seen as a key element of the project. Conservation work is also under way on the iconostasis and on the decorated wooden ceiling of the naos, which is considered unique of its kind.

Considered one of the most promising artists in Greece, Same 84 emphasized that in his murals he is inspired by everyday life, which he has tried to reflect in the work realized in Tirana, which has attracted the attention of citizens and foreign tourists from the very first days.

“I did not have a clear idea of what was happening in Tirana. I expected to find a degraded city. Forgive me for that, but I was wrong. My first impression as soon as I set foot here was very positive. My art is considered POP and I am inspired by my daily life. I see something very beautiful, I take it and put it in my works. During my visit in Tirana, the guide who accompanied us showed us some very interesting areas to visit. After the museum, we visited the Castle, which has a very beautiful view, radiating great contrasts, with a fascinating view. We have not seen such a thing in Athens”, said the Greek artist./a.a/r.e/p.s./
