Attending the roundtable were high-level representatives from EU member states and candidate countries.

Deputy Minister Fino wrote in a post in the social media that during this roundtable it was reconfirmed that EU enlargement is a geopolitical and security necessity.

The Munich Security Conference, the most important global meeting of politicians and security policy experts, kicked off on Saturday with participation of decision-makers, heads of state and government, ministers, leading security experts to debate pressing issues of international security policy.

The Conference will focus on the conflicts in Ukraine and in the Middle East.
