TIRANA, Dec 4 /ATA/ – The Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation Blendi Gonxhja on Wednesday hosted Turkish Ambassador to Albania, Tayyar Kağan Atay.

The meeting focused on ways to boost bilateral cooperation in culture, prioritizing a project on restoration of the Muradie Mosque or Lead Mosque, a cultural monument in the coastal city of Vlora that sustained damages due to recent floods.

Muradie Mosque, a historic gem in Vlore, Albania, stands as a testament to the rich cultural and architectural heritage of the region. Constructed in 1542, the mosque was commissioned by Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent.

The site is located at the heart of Vlora, adjacent to the city’s main Flag Square. The architectural style of Muradie Mosque is notable for its unique synthesis of influences. The single minaret, a slender tower that rises gracefully from the mosque, is a hallmark of Ottoman design.

The Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation said in a post on the social media that common projects and successful exchanges are designed to create new opportunities for sustainable development and stronger strategic relations.
