TIRANA, June 13 /ATA/ By -Maela Marini/ Prime Minister Edi Rama assured on Monday that the moratorium on forest clearance and hunting will continue to be in effect, while focusing on the results of these moratoria so far.

In his remarks at the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Tourism and Environment and the American organization “Patagonia” for the launch of joint work to designate Vjosa a “National Park”, Rama spoke about the impact that the moratoria have delivered on the ground.

The moratoria on forest clearance and hunting have now started to give the first results after many years. Suffice it to look at the satellite maps of the country to see the big difference in terms of green revitalization. “On the other hand, if we look at the entire inventory of the fauna species of the country, we see the impact of the ban on hunting”, said Rama.
He assured that we will continue with the Moratoria, because it is a necessity and the facts have shown that the prohibition of forest clearance or mass killing of animals and birds has not brought us any economic damage, on the contrary.
