TIRANA, Jan  19  /ATA/ Albania and Montenegro finalized the agreement in the field of social insurance.

In a press release, the Ministry of Finance and Economy announced that the Albanian delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy Olta Manjani, while the Montenegrin delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Welfare Edina Dešić.

About 2,500 Albanian citizens, mostly seasonal workers working in the neighboring country, will be beneficiaries of this agreement, which, after going through the technical stages, will take effect upon ratification by the respective Parliaments.

“We remain committed to protecting the rights of Albanian citizens, in order for their work to be recognized and guaranteed by law,” according to the MoFE.

This agreement is very important to ensure an equal treatment of all employees, and self-employed, whose periods of insurance and contributions will be recognized in both countries.
