According to Minister of Finance and Economy Delina Ibrahimaj, through this agreement reached with “SICPA Security Solutions” S.A. and “SICPA Security Solutions Albania” sh.p.k., there is made an effort to return to the government those contracts that were signed by the opposition when it was in power through corrupted way and to the detriment of the people.

According to her, this very contract aims to avoid hundreds of millions of Euros in arbitrations.

“We intend to reduce monopolies in the state budget and restore services to the people”, said the minister.

The postponement of the contract was reached through good understanding with the concessionaire company, in order to avoid arbitration, due to the failure of the contractor for putting of the pharmaceutical fiscal stamps.

Putting fiscal stamps on medicaments was not accepted 8 years ago because of the 5 times higher price offered by the concessionaire company.

The concessionaire’s income from fiscal stamps, according to the Ministry of Finance and Economy, is calculated from 900 million ALL to 1 billion ALL per year.

The revised tariffs will start implementation from February 6, 2023. The term of the concession contract ends on December 31, 2024.

During this period, the concessionaire undertakes to make an investment ranging from 3 to 5 million Euros, according to the schedules that will be detailed with respective deadlines in the Contract Management Board./p.s./

So far, the “Monopoly” has created various editions around the world, including countries in the region, while Albanian will be its 45th language.

“I think this is a very good initiative of the “Monopoly”, especially to reach a young audience that may not follow the news, does not watch TV, does not read portals, does not follow politicians, but playing this game and learning about Albania and Kosovo through it is the best promotion we can do. Thus, we turn them into ambassadors of the assets that we have in both our countries”, said Minister Kumbaro.

During the game, there are discovered the most interesting destinations of the country, whether they are natural, or those of cultural interest, parts of sports, education, or enterprises.

Minister Kumbaro stressed that Tirana this year is the European Capital of Youth, therefore it should be promoted in a special way.

“Tirana should have an important place because this year, the city is also the European capital of youth and since this is a product aimed at young people, we need destinations that are very attractive for them,” the minister concluded.

The representatives of the “Monopoly” will immediately start the tour in Albania for the selection of places to be promoted, while the official edition of the game in Albanian will be ready for the November holidays. /m.m/j.p/p.s./
