TIRANA, October 14/ATA/ “Edi Rama – Neuroaesthetics of an Artist” is the title of the scientific monograph by Oltsen Gripshi, which was promoted today at the Academy of Sciences.

This monograph brings for the first time a study approach that combines neuroscience and aesthetics in art.

Vice President of the Academy of Sciences Vasil Tole said in the speech he delivered on this occasion that, “A few days ago, on October 9, 2025, at an international event held in Tirana, a meeting that had nothing to do with art, Rama reiterated in the clearest and purest possible way what he is in essence. I am quoting his words: “I am not a general, nor a cyber expert. The only one in my government without a PhD, I am simply an artist”. Shortly before this, in an interview with an Italian media outlet, he claimed that his creations are all instinctive drawings”.

Speaking about the monograph, Tole said that, “The author manages to clarify the main issue that man as an artist is composed of a single body, where the connection of his artistic creativity breathes through psychomotor phenomena composed of thoughts, imaginations, thoughts and feelings”.

“Gripshi has a special merit because he aims to discover the act of Rama’s painting, through aesthetic experiences at the neurological level”, Tole emphasized.

On the author of this monograph Oltsen Gripshi indicated that this monograph has long been mature in terms of professionalism and to explore and research a very special dimension such as that of the artist Edi Rama.

He said that he started the work 20 years ago when he was a student at the Verona Academy of Arts while the professor was explaining about an artist across the Adriatic, saying that he had changed the image of his city, and this city was the capital of Albania, Tirana.

“At that time, the artist was the Minister of Culture and as soon as I left the lecture hall, I started to search and understand who this artist was because I left Albania at the age of 17 and I was not very knowledgeable about the history of art and Albanian artists of that time. But little by little, year after year, I researched, tracked and followed all the exhibitions that Edi Rama opened in Europe except in the USA. This was the starting point for this scientific monograph dedicated entirely to his creativity, not at all in a political aspect because it is creativity that must be appreciated”, emphasized Gripshi.

While critic Josif Papagjoni appreciated that in Edi Rama’s painting there is a new model of Albanian painting. /k.s/j.p/p.s./

TIRANA, April 26 /ATA/ The “University of Tetova 1994 / 5-2004 / 5” monograph was presented in context of the Nationwide Academic and Scientific Book Fair.

Attending the event was Chairman of the Academy of Sciences Skënder Gjinushi, Vice President Vasil Tole, Scientific Secretary Shaban Sinani, President of the Section of Albanological and Social Sciences Gëzim Hoxha, as well as academicians and researchers from Albania, Kosovo and North Macedonia.

Gjinushi expressed his gratitude for the readiness of the University of Tetova and other universities beyond the borders of Albania in the Nationwide Fair of Academic and Scientific Books.

Gjinushi spoke about the perspective of a consolidated agreement with the University of Tetova at a time when the Academy of Sciences of Albania has undertaken one of the main initiatives for drafting of three major works “History of Albanians”, “The Great Dictionary of the Albanian Language” and “Encyclopedia”, three important publications where the participation of all specialists wherever they are is required.

“The participation of the Albanians of North Macedonia is very important, as it is the part where history is most distorted,” said Gjinushi.

Gjinushi congratulated the authors for the monograph that casts a new light on a difficult period that has been the progress of all Albanians in Macedonia and a leading institution, such as the University of Tetova in the mission of European integration as equal citizens.

Prof. dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti presented the monograph “University of Tetova 1994 / 5-2004 / 5”. He said that the preparation of the monograph required a lot of effort and dedication, extensive research, collection of materials and documents, field work, data verification, systematization and editing of texts.

The monograph contains a total of 15 chapters. The first chapter brings original evidence on the initiative to establish and start the work of the first Albanian university in the Republic of North Macedonia.

The other chapters, from the second to the ninth, shed light on the functioning of the University of Tetova, the resistance of the university leaders in the face of state pressures, as well as the awareness of the public opinion of the country and the international factor for its formalization./k.s/j.p/r.e /p.s./
