Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, inspected on Tuesday the progress of works for the construction of this water supply system in the administrative unit of Mollas.

Balluku said all subscribers will be equipped with water meters.

The Minister said that in these areas there has been no water supply system since 1990.

The new system worth EUR 2.8 mln is about 90 km long. The project also entails the construction of 3 depots for 24- hour water supply.

Balluku also proposed that the water utility should consider using solar panels for energy.

“We should prioritize the use of solar panels due to the high consumption of energy by water utility. Thus they turn into systems that have energy autonomy, and even when the demand is not met, a large part is guaranteed, “ Balluku said.

The project for construction of water supply system is set to be completed in May this year.
