In his address at the high-level meeting “Albania 2030 in the EU – The Path of Reforms,” Rama said that it would be ideal for the inviolability of the Justice Reform to be guaranteed by all political forces in the Albanian Assembly. However, he regretted that, unfortunately, they do not all share the same perspective on the inviolability of the Justice Reform.

“The Republic of Albania has three independent branches of power: the legislative, the executive, and the judiciary. However, all three branches have the obligation to interact with each other, and in this process, they must be guided by a sense of national mission to harmonize all forces in order to achieve results.”

Rama stated that any modification of the Justice Reform, in terms of adapting and improving it as part of membership-related duties, must go through the European Union and the United States of America.

He stated, “Any modification of the Justice Reform in terms of adaptation and improvement, with regard to the requirements of membership, must go through the EU and the USA. This is how it worked when the Reform was crafted, and this is how it will continue to work moving forward.”

Rama went on saying, “we do not have, no matter how much we try to seek it, a unified political space on this matter.”

“I fully understand the ambassador when he says: all forces. It should be that way. However, we are unable to have a unified stance on the Justice Reform and the new justice bodies. This is because there are two completely opposing approaches,” emphasized Rama.

The Prime Minister emphasized that individual freedoms, the rule of law, and democratic institutions are guaranteed.
