In a video message, Koçiu said sustainable development cannot rely on a one-size-fits-all model, arguing that different parts of the country require different priorities, ranging from agriculture and agro-industry to tourism, energy, culture and coastal development.

She highlighted the urban areas of Tirana and Kamza as a growing metropolitan area with distinct needs in infrastructure, transport, housing, education and public services.

Koçiu said the government’s new approach aims to ensure that regions become more than administrative divisions, serving instead as genuine development hubs where public policies and investment are directed according to local needs and opportunities.

“Our goal is fairer and more balanced development for every citizen, whether they live in Tirana, coastal, mountainous or agricultural areas of the country,” she said.

Praising professor Elezi’s contribution to criminal justice in modern Albanian state and education of younger generations, the head of state underlined that such examples can serve the reform efforts as “Albanian justice system is is undergoing the most important process of transformation in the era of democracy.”

Referring to the judicial reform, President Begaj hailed the promising results in transformation of the country’s justice system.

“In the last 10 years, Albania has seen the justice system reform, which, in terms of its size, influence, transformation and expectations, is one of the most important undertakings over the last three decades,” Begaj said.

President Begaj emphasized the importance of maintaining moral integrity of the justice system.

“Permanent vetting and internal control occupy an important role in the milestone achievements of the new justice. The new justice cannot be as such if it displays the symptoms of the old justice, such as corruption, clientelism or corporatism. It must display unquestionable immunity and be impenetrable from the old diseases. The new justice has the identity and morality of the people who make and constitute it,” he stated.
