TIRANA, Dec  6 /ATA/ – By Maela Marini/ The Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, said on Tuesday in Tirana that there is common understanding between both parties to resolve the sea delimitation issue based on international law.

Pressed by the media before the EU- Western Balkans summit, Mitsotakis said: We intend to delimitate the maritime zone and as you know there is ongoing discussion between the two countries and despite the legal complexities, I think we have made good progress over the past months.

There is a common understanding between myself and PM Edi Rama that we do want to resolve this issue based on international law and we can reach an agreement for the signing of a document that will allow us to take this issue to the International Court, so I am reasonably optimistic that the Albanian side will do its part as early as possible.
