TIRANA, May 11 /ATA/- By Maela Marini/ Prime Minister Edi Rama said on Thursday evening that he does not recognize Sali Berisha as the leader of the opposition, adding that he misleads the public opinion.

In a televised interview, Rama commented on the statements of Berisha, who accuses the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, of ties with Iran.

“I have a thousand reasons why I don’t want to engage in a debate with him, but this is one reason why this man does not deserve a debate. He is a charlatan who makes fun of the Albanian people day and night. He shows the photo of a foreign guitarist passing it off as Erion Veliaj and accuses the latter of having been in Iran where he has reached a deal to get money for the incinerators. He says that he was informed by the secret intelligence, while he is a guitarist who sang when Erion Veliaj was 2 years old,” said Rama.
The Prime Minister emphasized that Berisha is a disgrace for Albania today.

“I don’t recognize him as an opposition leader at all. I consider him a dead man walking. There is no opposition leader, there are only fragments. He has brought disgrace to the state, the Albanian nation. He has disgraced us as long as he is designated by the USA,” said Rama.

Prime Minister recalled that Berisha accused the US ambassador of buying property in Albania.

“There is another Yuri Kim who has bought properties in Albania, but she is not the US ambassador. It is an Ukrainian citizen Yuri Kim, his wife’s name is Marina Kim. This couple bought property in Saranda. He accuses the US ambassador of having bought properties in Albania,” added Rama
